Sheikh Khaled is the brother of Sheikh Abdullah and won the Middle East Group N Championship in 2002 in his Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII and the FIA Middle East Rally Championship outright in 2004.
In 2004, Khaled ran a new Prodrive-prepared Subaru Impreza WRX STi and clinched the series after taking wins in Bahrain and Syria. He began the defence of his title well in 2005, but a string of second places was not enough to stop Al-Attiyah winning the championship and Al-Qassimi took second overall in the series. He currently lies second overall in the MERC in his Team Abu Dhabi Subaru Impreza WRX STi.
Khaled began rallying in 1993 and achieved numerous karting successes, in addition to Group N victories in 2002 in Qatar, Bahrain, Syria, Jordan, Dubai and the UAE Rally Championship the same year.
In 2003, he won Group N in Qatar, only to lose the award on a technicality, and was the Group N winner in Syria and Jordan. He was second overall in the 2004 UAE Rally and took several second places in 2006 after winning the Dubai Rally outright in 2005.
