Michel is a veteran of the early Gulf and Middle East championships and won the first ever regional title. He has tackled numerous rallies over the years in a variety of Toyotas and took his last outright win in the Oman Rally back in 1993. Over the last four years he has suffered seasons of highs and lows in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution; the highlight being second overall in Oman in 2004, the low point being losing a similar position in Bahrain in 2004 after being excluded on an FIA technicality.
