The Dubai International Rally is being held since the mid 1980s, but the ATCUAE took over the task of organizing the rally in 1997.The Dubai International Rally is the final round of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship, a round that decides the champion for the year.

The stature and popularity of the rally has grown over the years, attracting scores of competitors from the region in their quest for ultimate glory.

ATCUAE President Mohammed Ben Sulayem has 14 Middle East Championship titles to his credit, a feat unlikely to be matched by any driver in the near future.

Held over a three-day period – from Thursday to Saturday – towards the end of the year, the rally is traditionally held in the Madam, Hatta and Filli areas on the outskirts of Dubai over ten stages, including the Super Special Stage.

Over the years, Dubai Police, the Dubai Naturalization & Residency Department, the Dubai Directorate General of Civil Defense, the Roads & Transport Authority, Dubai Customs, Unified Ambulance, DP World, Oasis Water Company, Emarat, Hertz UAE and Explorer Publishing have continued to partner and support this prestigious event.
